Edgar Allan Poe Writing Assignment
For this assignment, you will be asked to create a one page
assignment involving one of Poe’s stories or poems. It must be a
full one page or more. Please reread your work to check for any
grammatical or spelling errors. Also, your paper MUST be school
appropriate. You will receive a zero if it is inappropriate. The
assignment is due October 11 on Turnitin.com.
1.) Create a journal entry from the point of view of one of Poe’s
characters. For example, you may choose to be the artist from “The
Oval Portrait” discussing his passion for art. Or, maybe you will be
Roderick or Madeline, wasting away in the House of Usher. Make
sure that your journal entry relates to the actual story or poem.
Or
2.) Choose a song which relates to a Poe story or poem. Explain
how the song relates to the work you have chosen. Make sure you
use specific examples from both the song and the work. Attach the
lyrics to your one page paper.
