EDUCATION AND EARNINGS The relationship between educational qualifications and earnings cannot be understated. Using Figure 2.7 on Page 19 of UK Social Issues, draw comparisons as to the amount of potential earnings for those people with no and various qualifications. People in possession of a degree were found to earn, on average, more than DOUBLE the weekly income of those with no qualifications. There is also a strong connection between SOCIAL CLASS and EDUCATION. Of those studying MEDICINE & DENTISTRY more than HALF are from the 2 highest social classes. Those two occupations guarantee high incomes upon graduation. Another impact of education upon earnings is that of reinforcing class divisions.
