Twelve Angry Men Video Review
Overview: As a jury member, it is important
that you understand the significance and
consequences of your duty. This video will
profile the personal conflicts of each member on
the jury for a murder trial.
Project Directions:
1. View the video Twelve Angry Men and choose two members of this jury
to focus your attention.
2. Keep notes on these two members—what they did and how they acted;
what they believed; their backgrounds; and anything else that might
identify them.
3. According to the Wisconsin Jury Handbook, there are Ten Rules for a
Juror. For each of the characters you chose, identify at least five
of these rules that were, or were not, part of this juror’s
character.
4. If you were to be a juror in this case, identify at least five of
these rules that are, or are not, part of your character as a
juror.
5. If you were an attorney, would you have tried to eliminate either
of the characters you chose or yourself as a juror in the initial
jury selection process.
6. Key a paper in report format incorporating proper grammar,
spelling, and punctuation. Your report should include the
following:





(20 points) Summary of each character's profile; key one
paragraph per character (See No. 2 above)
(10 points) Your personal juror profile (See No. 4 above)
(10 points) Assume that you're an attorney, analysis the
characters you chose and yourself. (See No. 4 above)
(10 points) Your paper should include an introductory and
concluding paragraph.
(10 points) Mechanics—correct grammar, spelling, and
punctuation.
7. Staple this coversheet to your report.
