Photo I photo shoot Assignments: Photo essay and architecture Both assignments are due by Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. That day, 20-photo (or more) proof sheets are due for both the architecture and the photo essay. [NOTE: Before the photos are taken, students will also complete a storyboard for the photo essay to help plan their shots. The deadline for that storyboard is Friday, Nov. 9.] The architecture photos will be printed out. The photo essay will be “laid out” using a collage app on an iPad and sent to the drop box. Architecture: Shoot photos of a building, house, church, etc. Turn in your single best photo. [Note--It is not necessary to shoot the whole building. You may wish to only photograph the most interesting part of a house (inside or outside), building, church, etc.] ■ Photo essay: Using the subject of your choice, turn in a five-photo essay laid out on an iPad (students will have access to 10 iPads from the CTE Department). Variety within your subject will be one of the keys to making it a strong photo essay. It is recommended to turn in at least one closeup which helps add to that variety. Think of this assignment as being similar to a magazine spread in People, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, etc. magazines. In most cases, photos should not be posed. You, the photographer, should be a “fly on the wall,” capturing your subject in a candid, journalistic way. [Note—Shoot at least 20 different photos of your subject in order get a good chance of having that needed variety.]
