BUILD A STATIONARY MODEL: Build a model of an Egyptian pyramid, the Sphinx, or of a mummy. Make it neat, colorful, and accurate. 2 page paper: A synopsis that describes the importance of your topic. ART DRAWING: Draw (not trace) a picture of Tutankhamen’s death mask. Make it neat, colorful, and accurate. 2 page paper: A synopsis that describes the life of King Tut and the meaning of his mask. ART MAP: Draw (not trace) a map of Ancient Egypt, labeling the rivers, deserts, cities, seas, pyramid locations, etc. Make the map neat, colorful, and accurate. 2 page paper: discuss Egypt’s geography and how it affected Ancient Egyptians and Egyptians today. PHYSICAL MAP: Sculpt a physical map of Ancient Egypt, labeling the rivers, deserts, cities, seas, pyramid locations, etc. It should have different heights for pyramids, rivers, and hilly regions. Make it neat, colorful, and accurate. 2 page paper: Your paper should discuss Egypt’s geography and how it affected Ancient Egyptians and Egyptians today. ART SLIDESHOW: Create a 20+ slide slideshow with images of a theme in Ancient Egyptian history (e.g. pharaohs, pyramids, the Nile, etc.). Write an informative description for each picture. Make it creative: include music/short videos; interesting transitions, and animations. 2 page paper: describes the importance of your topic. BIBLICAL REPORT: Write a 4 page paper that answers the who, what, when, where, why, and how of Ancient Egypt as it was recorded in the Bible (written in a story format). WRITE AND PERFORM AN EGYPTIAN SONG (SOLO/PARTNER/GROUP): Write and perform a song - either serious or funny - about Ancient Egypt. It should be well planned and thoughtful. Staple a copy of your lyrics to the report. Your paper should explain the lyrics and meaning of the song. VIDEO (GROUP): Choose a theme inspired by Ancient Egypt (a specific event or a recreation of their lives, process of mummification, building a pyramid, etc.), create props, write a script, and then film and edit your video. The video should be short enough to be a great video; don’t aim for a long length (keep it about 5 minutes), as longer videos always require more editing. Before filming, make sure you get my approval for your topic. Your report should describe the meaning and historical background behind your video’s script. COOK TWO ANCIENT EGYPTIAN RECIPES: Make two dishes of Ancient Egyptian food and bring it to class for us to eat. Be as authentic as possible in preparing this food and be able to tell the class how you made it. Print out the recipe you used to make the food and staple it to the back of your report. Your report should summarize the types of food Ancient Egyptians ate. Be sure to take the necessary eating utensils (plates, cups, forks, spoons, etc.) for all. If you need to keep something cold, please pack it in a cooler. Your paper should discuss Ancient Egyptian food. MAKE AN EGYPTIAN ARTICLE OF CLOTHING: Make an authentic Ancient Egyptian article of clothing and show it to our class. Your paper should discuss the types of clothing Ancient Egyptians wore. PERFORM A MONOLOGUE/DRAMA (SOLO/PARTNER/GROUP): Use an ancient Eygptianinspired theme to write and perform a monologue. Then write a paper on the historical meaning and significance of your drama.
