The grades given on the three deadlines will comprise his/her grade this six weeks. All students have been given detailed instructions on this assignment that will also be posted on Mrs. Dawson’s website. Students will be given class time to write rough drafts and four days in lab to type. They may bring a jump drive if they choose to save their information to bring back and forth from school and home. As a parent you can help your child in a couple different ways with this project: A) Help him/her collect information to complete pages such as photos or stories to write his/her book. B) Send in the proper materials for completion of this assignment. This would be a ½ inch 3 ring binder, a glue stick and 30 plastic sleeves (sold at office stores). If this presents a financial difficulty I need to know as soon as possible so I can help your child acquire these required materials for completion of the project. (Any additional purchase of scrapbook type paper and embellishments is completely optional and at your discretion). C) Help your child complete a family tree for their book. I will give them a form and require they do themself and up to two generations (a grandparent’s name if possible) on their trees. Since families are comprised of all different dynamics, feel free to complete whatever you and your child are comfortable with on either side of your family or both sides. D) Please check your child’s progress with this project periodically to ensure deadlines are met.
