Autobiographical Poster You will be creating a poster about you and your family’s history. You will be including five components as a part of this project. These parts are listed below. You need to put your best effort into this project as it is a large project grade. Components 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Self Interview Your Name Where are you from Autobiodoodle Family Tree Requirements for each Component 1. Self Interview: You will be interviewing yourself and writing an article with information from this interview. You may need to ask family to find out some of the answers you are looking for. Some information may include (but not limited to): where were you born, where have you lived, when were your parents, brothers, sisters born, what have you been involved in (sports, clubs, etc.), how did your family come to settle in the Bonduel area, when did your family come to this country (what year or generation), what are your plans for the future, etc. 2. Your Name: How did you get your name? What does it mean? Do you have nicknames? You will write a narrative (paragraphs) to share this information. If you are unsure of how you got your name, you will need to ask mom or dad or another family member or friend who was there when you were born. If you were born the opposite gender, do you know what your name could have been? Add that to your narrative. 3. Where are you from: This will be written in poetry format. What is the history and heritage of your family? You will need to ask family members to find out. What background do you have – German, Dutch, Indian, African, American Indian, Spanish, etc. What are some interesting events that have taken place in your family – has someone been in the Olympics, has someone met the president, what traditions do you have in your family, etc. 4. Autobiodoodle: You will create some type of 3D object to put on your poster that represents you. For example, if you like to read you might create a book that incorporates words that describes you. If you like snowmobiling you might create some type of snowmobile or clothing with what it means to you and words to describe you on it. 5. Family Tree: You will create a family tree in Inspiration going back to at least your great-grandparents. You will probably need to ask family for help on this part of the project to get the names of grandparents and greatgrandparents. Grading You will be graded on each individual component and as a final project that includes all of the required components. You will be given a rubric for each component as they are introduced, along with a rubric for the final project. You are going to want to stay on top of this project. Do not fall behind. Gather as much information as possible! You should also include family pictures to add to the project. These can be pictures of you growing up, family members, trips you have taken, etc. The sky is the limit with how you put it together on the posterboard. Have fun with it!
