CV Cathrine Seierstad University: School of Business and Management Queen Mary University of London Mile End Road, E1 4NS London RESEARCH My research addresses the role of gender, leadership and the use of affirmative action (AA) strategies. My PhD thesis explores sex segregation in the Norwegian labour market (writing-up). Specifically, I study vertical sex segregation and the lack of women in the senior board / managerial positions. To see how institutional laws and norms affect gender balance within organizations, I examine politicians, academics, and directors of corporate boards as specific occupational groups that are vulnerable to such segregation effects. My thesis is titled: Vertical sex segregation, equality, and political strategies: The paradoxes and paths of the Norwegian labour market. EDUCATION 2006 – 2010 (exp.)
