RESEARCH
My research addresses the role of gender, leadership and the use of affirmative action (AA) strategies.
My PhD thesis explores sex segregation in the Norwegian labour market (writing-up). Specifically, I study
vertical sex segregation and the lack of women in the senior board / managerial positions. To see how
institutional laws and norms affect gender balance within organizations, I examine politicians,
academics, and directors of corporate boards as specific occupational groups that are vulnerable to such
segregation effects. My thesis is titled: Vertical sex segregation, equality, and political strategies: The
paradoxes and paths of the Norwegian labour market.
