ATTACHMENTS:
1. The completed application form with a resume listing extracurricular activities (both in
school and community), employment, honors or awards, and leadership opportunities you
have been involved in during high school.
2. A Mayflower essay on the following topic: “In essay form describe the relations of the
Pilgrims to the Indians from 1620-1675. Answer some important questions regarding this
relationship such as, why were the Pilgrims dependent on the Indians? Which Indians? Was
their concept of land ownership the same as that of the Pilgrims, Compose an essay of a
maximum of 750 words describing the relations between the Pilgrims and the Indians.” Your
essay must include references to document the facts that you use. Your essay must include

Essays will be evaluated for content, organization, style, and grammar. All entries must be
typewritten and sources cited in appropriate bibliographic style.
3. One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, business person, peer or family
friend.
4. A copy of your official high school transcript.
5. A copy of your SAT and/or ACT scores.
6. Information on your Mayflower ancestor, if applicable.
The deadline for applications is March 1, 2015. Any applications postmarked after this
date will be ineligible for consideration.
Please mail THREE COPIES of the application, ONE COPY of the essay plus a CD
with a copy of the essay, the letter of recommendation; and TWO COPIES of all other
materials in a 9 x 12 envelope to:
