Students will be able to talk about shopping and buying things. 2- Students will consider the advantages and disadvantages of internet shopping. Step 2—Assessment Evidence 1. Students will interview each other about four different objects they bought recently using questions; how much, how, where and when. 2. Students will work in groups to compare between online shopping and traditional one. Step 3—Learning Plan Materials needed projector whiteboard worksheets photos A) On the board, teacher writes the names of 5 currencies around the world; Dollar, Yuan, Pound, Yen and Euro Ask the students which countries they can find the money in. Some of the currencies can be found in more than one country. B) Warm up by checking vocabulary. Match the pictures to these ways of paying for things; 1- Debit card 2 credit card 3 cash 4 check 1 C) You are going to ask someone about their shopping habits. Read the survey about 3 different countries. 1- Teacher tells students to read carefully the sentences in the survey and help them with any difficult words. 2- Make sure that they understand the statements. 3- Ask them read out the answers loudly 4- Organize the students to work in pairs to conduct the survey with each other. Remind them to take notes of their partners’ answers. 5- Move around, listen and encourage the students. D) Think, Pair and Share to answer questions about the advantages and disadvantages of online shopping 1- Tell the students to read the questions individually. 2- Organize them to work in pairs. The exchange the roles to ask and answer each other. 3- Then every four students work together to discuss the answers and think about price, delivery costs, size of markets, convenience, etc. E) Work in pairs to fill in this Venn’s diagram to find the commonalities and differences of shopping habits in China, the U.S. and Egypt. 2
