Food Diary Analysis: Important Notes: All graphs and comments for your Food Diary Analysis should be put together in a duotang/booklet with a clear title page for each section. Graphs are all to be done by hand on graph paper. All comments are to be typed and printed. Your Food Diary should be inserted into the first page in the booklet. Make sure to complete the self check columns before handing your analysis in. SECTION 1: Five A Day Five A Day Analysis Introduction Current thinking advises that we all consume 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day. SECTION 3: ENERGY Energy Introduction: Depending on our age, sex and level of physical activity, we all have different energy requirements. On average, boys between the age of 11-14 require 2200 Calories per day and girls aged 11-14 approximately 1845 Calories per day. Humans obtain energy from food. Any excess energy consumed is stored as body fat. One pound of body fat contains approximately 3500 Calories of energy. You will now look at one day in your food diary to see if you are consuming the right amount of energy. Guideline Daily Amount (GDA) for me is ** to convert to kJ multiply Calories by 4.184 Cal ( kJ) a) Make a table showing all the foods you ate on ONE day only. The table can be done neatly by hand using a ruler or on Word or Excel and printed. See the table below for an example. Refer to the Energy in Food info sheet for help.
