All : I confess to Almighty God, and to you my brothers and sisters, that I have sinned through my own fault, in my thoughts, and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. And I ask the Blessed Mary, ever Virgin, all the angels and saints and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord our God. Priest : May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life †. All : Amen. Priest : Lord have mercy All : Lord have mercy Priest : Christ have mercy All : Christ have mercy Priest : Lord have mercy All : Lord have mercy Priest All 3 : Glory to God in the highest, : And peace to his people on earth. Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship you, we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory. Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; you are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer. For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. Priest : Let us pray. Almighty God, hear our prayers on behalf of -----&----- who have come here today to be united in the Sacrament of Marriage. Make their love fruitful so that they may be living witnesses to your divine love in the world. We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. All : Amen. Everyone sits down for the First Reading. LITURGY OF THE WORD FIRST READING Reader : A reading from the Song of Songs: Hark! My lover – here he comes springing across the mountains, leaping across the hills. My lover is like a gazelle or a young stag. Here he stands behind our wall, gazing through the window, peering through the lattices. My lover speaks; he says to me “Arise my beloved, my beautiful one and come! O my love in the clefts of the rocks, in the secret recesses of the cliff. Let me see you, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet and you are lovely.” My lover belongs to me and I to Him. (He said to me.) Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm; for love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame. Deep waters cannot quench love nor flood sweep it away. This is the Word of the Lord. All : Thanks be to God. RESPONSORIAL PSALM Reader : Let our response be: “I WILL BLESS THE LORD AT ALL TIMES” 4 Reader Reader Reader Reader : I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall ever be in my mouth. My soul will glorify in the Lord that the poor may hear and be glad. (Response) : Glorify the Lord with me. Let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. (Response) : Look to God that you may be radiant with joy, and your faces may not blush with shame. When the afflicted man called out, the Lord heard, and from all his distress, He saved him. (Response) : The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him and delivers them. Taste and see how good the Lord is, happy the man who takes refuge in Him. (Response) SECOND READING Reader : A reading from the first letter of St. Paul to the Corinthians. Set your hearts on the greater gifts. I will show you the way which surpasses all the others. If I speak with human tongues and angelic as well, but do not have love, my speech is no more than a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and with full knowledge, comprehend all mysteries, if I have faith great enough to move mountains but have no love, I am nothing. If I give everything I have to feed the poor and hand over my body to be burned, but have not loved, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not put on sins, and it is not snobbish. Love is never rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not prone to anger, and neither does it brood over injuries. Love does not rejoice in what is wrong, but rejoices with the truth. There is no limit to love’s forbearance, to its trust, its hope, its power to endure. Love never fails. This is the Word of the Lord. All : Thanks be to God. 5 Reader : Kindly rise for the Gospel Acclamation. THE GOSPEL Everyone stands up for the Gospel Acclamation Choir : Alleluia. “Abide in me, and I in you. Live on with my love. You will live in my love if you keep my commandments, even as I have kept my Father’s commandments and live in His love. All this I tell you so that my joy maybe yours and your joy may be complete. By this Sacrament, Your grace unifies man and woman in an unbreakable bond of love and peace. You have designed the chaste love of husband and wife for the increase, both of the human family and of your family born in baptism. You are the loving Father of the world of nature. You are the loving Father of the new creation of grace. In Christian marriage you bring together the two orders of creation: nature’s gift of children enriches the world and your grace also enriches the Church. Through Christ, the choir of angels and all the Saints praise and worship your glory. May our voices blend with theirs as we join in their unending hymn of praise. Let your spirit come upon these gifts to make them holy so that they may become for us the Body and Blood of our Lord, Jesus Christ †. Before He was given up to death, a death He freely accepted, He took the bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to His disciples and said: “Take this all of you and eat it. This is my body which will be given up for you.” When supper was ended, He took the cup. Again, He gave you thanks and praise, gave the cup to His disciples and said: “Take this all of you, and drink from it. This is the cup of my blood, the blood of the new and everlasting covenant. It will be shed for you and for all, so that sins may be forgiven. Do this in memory of me.” Priest All : Let us proclaim the Mystery of Faith. : Christ has died, Christ has risen, and Christ will come again. The couple in consultation with the priest may bring about changes or adaptations to the ceremony. It should be prepared well before the rehearsal day. It is advised to provide text of the ceremony to the guests at the wedding including the ceremony and hymns. Copies should be made available at the rehearsal itself. 2. The couple may choose suitable scriptural texts after consulting with the priest. 3. The texts in blue background are with options for the choir to choose to sing. The songs are to chosen in consultation with the priest. The couple needs to get in touch with the choirmasters for the choice of songs. 4. Provide commentators / readers, and try to involve family members / close friends to partake in the ceremony: at places like the entrance procession, offertory, nuptial blessing, peace giving, etc. 5. Materials like the Unity Candle, Wedding Rings, Ceremony Missalette, etc. should be given to responsible persons. 6. All those involved in the ceremony need to be there at the rehearsal. Fix the date with the priest well in advance. 7. Decoration of the church: contact the nuns and provide them with the information about the choice of flowers and the expenses necessary. You are welcome to do it yourself too. Appoint someone responsible to deal with the payment to the choir and decoration team. The contribution to the church too is to be taken into notice. 8. The photographer and videographer need to contact the priest before the ceremony. 9. Be on time. 10. For further information contact your respective priests-incharge. 17
