The individuals listed below have accepted your nomination for the position noted. Please review the information for each nominee. NOTE: Nominees are not running against each other – any or all nominees can be elected to join our current Elders and Deacons in serving Fairland Christian Church. MATT BUENING Nominated for Deacon Matt has been married to Whitney for almost 6 years, and they have two beautiful kids; Jayce and Jenna. Matt has attended Fairland Christian Church for 3½ years, and was baptized 3 years ago. Matt would like to become a deacon to help further his walk with God and to help him grow as a Christian. Matt feels it would be exciting to have an active role in helping our church grow. SAM DOWNS Nominated for Deacon Sam and Karen have been married for 36 years. They have 2 children; Samantha Troyer, and Justin Downs, who is married to Stephanie. Sam and Karen have 3 grandchildren; Levi Troyer, Madison Troyer, and Hayden Burkybile. Sam has been a member of Fairland Christian Church since moving to Fairland with his parents from Miami in 1964. Sam has previously served as a deacon at FCC. Sam is very humbled by your faith and trust in him by this nomination, and he will do his best to serve God and this congregation. AUSTIN KINSEY Nominated for Deacon Austin Kinsey has been married to Kara Kinsey for 6 years. They have 2 children; Aubrey age 3 and Brady age 6 months. Austin was raised in Fairland, and has been attending Fairland Christian Church his whole life. He was baptized in 1989 at the Fairland Christian Church. He has served 2 terms as a deacon. He currently serves on the Missions Committee and the Budgeting/Finance Committee. He has prepared the church budget the last 3 years. In the past, he also served on the Search Committee. Austin has worked for the Peoria Tribe of Indians for the last 10 years and is currently the Lead Controller. Austin feels called to serve the church and has a desire to see the church grow, and to see its current members grow spiritually. STEVE MILLER Nominated for Deacon Steve Miller was born in Clinton, OK. Steve has lived in the Fairland area since moving to Fairland at age 6. He attended Fairland Christian Church with his family since he was a child, and he was baptized as a young teenager. Steve and Peggy have been married for 34 years. They have no children, but both have children from a previous marriage. Steve has served as a deacon at FCC for 6 years, and is looking forward to serving again. Larry and Pat have been married for 44 years. Larry became a member of Fairland Christian Church in 1965. He has served terms as both elder and deacon. Larry teaches an adult Sunday School class and currently serves as Chairman of the Board. Larry is committed to the growth and well being of our church and the Fairland community. He loves the church and desires to serve in any capacity, whether in leadership or not.
