During our discussion on biotechnology, we will be watching the movie GATTACA. This film
causes the students to think critically about the ethical implications of biotechnology, genetic
engineering, and the possibility of altering human genes to create a supreme race. GATTACA is
rated PG-13 for brief violent images, language, and some sexuality (which is skipped over in
class). Please sign and return this slip by Wednesday, December 11 if you choose to have your
child watch the film and participate in our discussion on bioethics. If you choose NOT to have
your child watch the film, your child will be given an alternative assignment to complete.
