ATTENTION 8TH GRADE PARENTS - NEW ENGLAND TRIP
If you haven’t submitted your payment(s) and completed New England forms - Emergency
Notification (blue), Health Information (orchid) and Student Contract (salmon), it is
imperative that you do so immediately. Also, any prescription medication should have been
brought in to the Health Office by now. All prescription medication must be in the original
container with the name of the student marked clearly on the package and placed in a Ziploc
bag.
If you currently hold prescription medication with the nurse, it will be transported with the
nurse on the trip. Any over-the-counter medications (ex. Tylenol, Benadryl,
Ibuprofen/Advil/Motrin) listed on the orchid Health/Medication sheet will be supplied by the
nurse as long as your physician completes the orders, signs and stamps the form. There is no
need to send in these types of medications.

ATTENTION 8th GRADE PARENTS - SUMMER READING INFO
All 8th grade students who will be attending Pascack Valley High School in September 2013
are required to read the book – “Of Beetles and Angels” – A remarkable journey from refugee
camp to Harvard by Mawi Asgedom.
SOCCER/VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS
NEWS FROM THE NURSE – 5TH, 6TH AND 7TH GRADES
Soccer and Volleyball tryouts will begin on September 9th for Fall teams. Physicals, permission
and medical forms are due August 12, 2013. You may drop these off for the nurse in the Main
office over our summer break. Yellow Physical Forms must be within 365 days of 9/9/13. The
sooner you return these forms the sooner your child can be cleared for tryouts. Sports forms
are available in the health office beginning June 20th and online. Any questions, feel free to call

MEMORIAL DAY ESSAY & POSTER CONTEST
We are pleased to announce the George G. White School winners of the Memorial Day Essay
Contest sponsored by the General Leonard Wood Post No. 162 – American Legion and the Borough
of Hillsdale. The Theme this year was “Remember With Pride, Those Who Gave The Ultimate
Sacrifice – THEIR LIVES”.
