The New Deal and its Sequel -The Second New Deal The New Deal was Franklin D. Roosevelt’s (FDR) plan to get the American economy going again and put people back to work. The New Deal had three goals Relief, Recovery and Reform and like any government program it did some good, but was criticized as well.
