PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
We currently have 27 enrolments. Up 1 since our last school council meeting. This is great news and
we managed to get him onto our census which closed on 28th of February so funding for him is
included in our student resource package.
Kate has agreed to continue at HGPS for 1 more term for 3 days per week. Kate will provide admin
time for me on Monday and Wednesday and will replace Sam in her classroom on a Tuesday. Sam
has negotiated a change of working days which did not cause any problems.
On Monday of this week I went to Merrivale PS in Warrnambool which is a school of approximately
180 students to watch the Daily 5 in action. The Daily Five provides a structure to develop habits of
reading, writing and working collaboratively. The Five are: Read to self, Read to someone, Listen to
reading, Word work and Writing work. Lots of ideas. Kate and Sam will also be given opportunities to
go and visit schools/classrooms.
Cluster Day tomorrow - a fantastic transition opportunity, particularly for our upper level students.
Cluster teachers plan a meeting for early next term.
On demand testing is up and working which is great news – great assistance with planning and goal
setting.
The Labour Day market was a great success. It is a shame we are having trouble finding volunteers
but numbers appear a little more promising for the Easter market.
