Да читајући одломак из дела “Ромео и Јулија” схвате да се на
њиховој трагедији заснива теза да љубав побеђује мржњу
 Да сазнају детаље из живота Вилијема Шекспира.

A Meeting with William Shakespeare (born 1564, died 1616)
As a time traveller, it is my hobby to meet amazing people who used their time to create and
innovate in extraordinary ways. It was therefore with anticipation and excitement that I went
to Stratford-upon-Avon in England to visit the home of William Shakespeare.
Charles - Thank you for inviting me to your home to discuss what your life was like before
you went to London and became a famous playwright.
William Shakespeare - It is a pleasure to meet you and to share memories of my early life.
Charles – How did you spend your time?
William Shakespeare - When I was young, I dreamt a lot, both when asleep and awake. I
was the third of eight children. In truth, most of the time, my mind was in far-off places. Way
beyond Stratford-upon-Avon, where I was born. Life there was rather slow. There was not
much to do, except go to school and attend church on Sundays.During the long summer
evenings, I enjoyed walking in the countryside.
Charles - I understand that your father had a glove shop and that you helped him at local
fairs. Is that where you met Anne Hathaway, who became your wife?
William Shakespeare - Our first meeting was at our Henley Street shop in Stratford-uponAvon. One day, she came in and looked at some of our gloves. She said her name was
Mistress Hathaway. ‘I will have to save up some money to buy them,’ she said with a
beautiful smile, which I liked. But, by chance, to my great surprise, we met again shortly
afterwards.. We talked for a few moments
Charles - What did you talk about?
William Shakespeare - During our discussion, I mentioned that I wrote poems. I had some
rough notes in my pocket and read to Anne some of what I had written. She asked me many
questions and showed real interest. That is how I started courting Anne Hathaway. I was 18
years old at the time and she was eight years older than me. Time flew by while we were
together and neither of us was concerned about the age difference. I had found someone who
understood my dreams, poems and stories. Someone who encouraged me, although she could
not read or write. Within a short time, we became more than good friends. It was the start of a
new life. We had three children. Anne and I were married for 34 years. Many of those years I
spent in London, writing plays and arranging for them to be performed at the Globe Theatre.
Our capital city was under the guidance of Queen Elizabeth I. London was full of wit and
good company. But, it was a dirty, dangerous and smelly city. It was not a place to bring up
children. With the money earned from my plays, I built a grand house for my family in
Stratford-on-Avon and called it New Place. That is where I retired to with Anne after leaving
London
Charles - Thank you for telling us the facts of your early life and describing how you met
your wife. I hope that we will be able to meet again and discuss the great plays and poems
that you wrote.
William Shakespeare - It will be a pleasure.
ROMEO & JULIET

the east and Juliet is the sun..
It is my lady! Oh, it is my love! I wish she knew she was my love. She rests her cheek in her
hand. Oh, I wish that I were a glove on her hand, so that I could touch that cheek
JULIET: Oh my
ROMEO: She speaks! Oh speak again, bright angel
JULIET: Oh Romeo, Romeo, why does your name have to be Romeo? Tell me that
Montague is not your father, and that is not your name. Or, if you won’t do that, just promise
to be my love, and I shall no longer be a Capulet. It is only your name that is my enemy. Give
up your name, Romeo – it’s not part of you, anyway.
ROMEO: Just call me-love, and I shall never be Romeo again.
JULIET: Who is that, hiding in the night? Aren’t you Romeo, and a Montague?
ROMEO: I am neither, fair lady, if you dislike either of them. Love is brave enough to try
anything- so your family will not stop me. I swear by the moon…
JULIET: Oh sweet Romeo don’t swear by the moon which changes all through the month. I
don’t want your love to be changeable like the moon. If you must swear, swear by yourself.
For you are the god that I love.
Now..Good night my love…Sleep as sweetly as I will.
