I feel that the poem’s speaker has gone crazy because he has just lost Lenore and uses drinking to forget about her. 2. (a) Lenore is the speaker’s wife, she has passed away. (b) I can infer that the speaker’s relationship with Lenore was close since he uses Nepenthe to relief the memories of her. 3. (a) The two adjectives the speaker uses to describe his mood at the beginning are weak and weary. (b)The two adjectives I would used to describe the speaker’s mood at the end of the poem is insane and out of his mind. 4. (a) The one word the Raven speaks is “nevermore”. (b) I think the raven is merely repeating a sound. 5. (a) My impression of the raven is that it gets annoying. (b) What causes my impression to change is that he keeps repeating. 6. The poem would have not been as effective if Poe had used a parrot instead of a raven because a parrot is more like a happier bird where as a raven would symbolize darkness.
