It is difficult to put yourself into the shoes of another; sometimes it may seem impossible to understand what a situation feels like until you experience something similar. Of course we are not able to transport our physical being back in time, but we are certainly able to draw upon the knowledge of the past in order to reflect on the human condition and imagine what it must have been like to be faced with such adversity.
