About Trixie Craig A little about my background. I got my talent from my father who passed away when I was 20. It's such a shame he can not enjoy what he passed on. I wasn't really singing then just playing the odd keyboard which I learnt up until the age of thirteen. I can't play a note now. Tragic!! But it gave me a good grounding and reading music is a breeze. I really started singing when I left school and moved to Auckland and did musical theatre. I did this for many years but I got bored with that and didn't want to dance and act -- just sing. After tooing and froing from Auckland to Dunedin, I bought myself a Karaoke rig and started out doing gigs. I have now progressed to doing solo and duo gigs using backings. I absolutely have a blast every time I go out. I have a son who is coming up 20 and he is such a gem. He plays trumpet and really should be on the stage. His father was a great character actor. I'm not sure whether he sings or not, he won't fess up about that but I bet he can. I have recently started singing country music and indeed won the NZ Gold Guitars over 40 female section in 2007 which is my greatest achievement to date apart from this CD. You may be wondering about the significance of the mask theme. It is my hobby. I collect them and when I go into a Venetian mask shop I'm like a little kid in a candy store. So I had to have this theme running through all my marketing stuff. I've finally got off my backside to do this CD.I am the world's biggest procrastinator and always have a reason not to do things but this CD has been a long time coming. I'm 42---Agh!!! But Seriously, Singing is my passion and it's what keeps me sane. If I didn't have music in my life, my partners life would be hell as I would be dead. I've finally accepted I have a wonderful talent and this is my opportunity to share it with all who wish to listen. These songs are a bunch of tracks that I feel personally drawn to for various reasons thus I feel confident I can do justice to them. They are a mix of styles because I refuse to be put in a box so I hope there is something for everyone. My week in the studio was such a buzz and I'm still bouncing off the walls. The insurmountable talents of Adrian Stuckey and Jennifer Matthews {Big Note Productions}left me awestruck. Their creativity and likemindedness worked to get the best out of me and this CD has left me with such a “wow” feeling. I'm so proud of it. My versatility is my key attribute along with a good pair of lungs.
