You are applying to admission to a top-notch university. In addition to your high school
records, your SAT scores, three recommendations and the lengthy application form itself,
the admissions office of the university requires that you write an essay. In this essay, you
must discuss some personal experience that gave you insight into a value you hold in
high regard. The admissions office describes the topic in the following way:
“Write a narrative essay of less than 1000 words presenting some incident from your past
experience when you discovered something important about yourself and what you
believe in. Offer not only a concrete revelation of the particular incident but also some
discussion of how that incident enabled you to clarify a specific value that you thought
significant then and still consider important today.”
This paper must be typed and double-spaced with one-inch margins.
Title page is optional, but you must include class time, days we meet and date paper is
due on the front.
