閱讀心得 Book Review：
Gulliver's adventure is so exciting and attractive. Johathan Swift wrote the story
delicately.He described the scenery the character and even the details completely.
The imaginary world as if it appeared in front of me.When Gulliver caught by the
monkey, I was also nervous and worried.I considered that I joined the travel with
Gulliver. I was immerse in the unique story.
It's not only the interesting story but also hidden meaning.The story reflects many
problems in the real world. In Brobdingnag
, the king criticized British politicians, soldiers, judges and lawyers. The king said
they are laziness and selfishness.In fact, our politicians can be bribed Our judges
aren't fair.These kind of news often occur in our life. In Lilliput, the struggle between
political parties and the kings ambition happen in the real world, too.The story
ironically reflect "greed, ambition, ruthlessness" at that time in England.
But Gulliver was still proud of his own country.He didn't become aware of those
problems. Likewise , those problems happened in our world, but sometimes we
didn't discover.Lastly Gulliver went to Houyhnhnm, a country had no lied and wars.
Gulliver began to introspect why human had fight war, lie, cheat, steal and
kill.Houyhnhnm and our world are opposite world. Jonathan Swift appealed to us for
changing our behavior and thoughts. After reading the story,I started to introspect
myself. I was very impressed by the story of Lilliput and Blefuscu. Lilliput and Blefuscu
fight about breaking the smaller end or larger end of the eggs. I thought it is very
insignificant, because it is just normal affair.It can't influence our whole life. However,
they want to destroy the other party just because of their different ideas. Sometimes
we also argue with our family and friends on account of minor matters. We are just
like Lilliput and Blefuseu.
We don't need to fight about unimportant things, Fight and argument can destroy
trust. For instance, Lilliputians didn't believe Gulliver,they even want to kill Gulliver. It
can also destroy benevolent heart, the king of Lilliput not only want to protect Lilliput
from attacking by Blefuscu, also want to destroy them and become king of the whole
world.Fight bring a lot of bad effect. I lost my best friend because of argument. We
suspect and said malicious talk to each other. I was so regretful Therefore, we should
stop arguing and establishing good relationship with other people. We will become
happier and have more friends. I have Great inspiration from story.
Gulliver's Travels is a fascinating story. The story is also a matter worth pondering The
book can be read again and again. I will recommend my friend this book.
