2010 Annual Convention

GENERAL RULES FOR ENTERING COMPETITION:
Intent to Enter Forms All volunteers groups must submit the “Intent
to Enter form for Awards Competition to the Award Committee Chair listed
on the Form. Any group entering MUST be a member in good standing of
TAHV. “INTENT TO ENTER FORMS MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE
AWARDS COMMITTEE CHAIR BY MAY 1, 2010. Forms received after
May 1, 2010 will receive a penalty of minus 25 points for each entry
(poster, tray favors, newsletter and scrapbook). You will receive an
acknowledgement of our receipt of your “Intent to Enter” form.
Rules
Please read the rules on each of the judging forms. These
rules must be adhered to for each of your entries. Non-adherence to the
requirements as set out may result in disqualification of your entry.
Licensed Beds
Please determine the correct number of beds licensed
by the State of Texas for your facility. You should be able to get this
information from your DVS, Administrator or CEO. If your facility does not
have beds, please enter “0”. This number is very important because it is
the deciding factor as to the group you will be placed in for judging and
make it possible for you to compete against other hospitals, hospices, and
nursing facilities of the same size. The licensed bed number MUST BE
CONSISTENT on all of your forms!
Entries
All entries will be accepted in the TAHV Awards Room on
Level Three of the Hilton Americas on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from
2:00pm until 6:00pm and from 8:00am until 12:00noon on Thursday, May
27, 2010.
Judges
The judges will begin their work at 12:00noon on Thursday,
May 27, 2010 and the Awards Room will be closed until after the award
presentations on Uniform Day afternoon (Friday, May 28, 2010).
Following the award presentations, the Awards Room will be opened for
viewing until 5:30pm. Entries may be picked up on Friday, May 28, 2010
from 5:30pm until 6:30pm or on Saturday morning (May 29, 2010) from
8:00am until 9:00am in the Awards Room. The entries must be signed
out. NO ENTRIES MAY BE TAKEN FROM THE AWARDS ROOM
BEFORE 5:30PM ON FRIDAY, MAY 28, 2010. THERE WILL BE NO
EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE SO DEA*! (*DEA – Don’t even ask.)
These judges are gracious people who are donating their time and
expertise. They are not members of TAHV and their identities are
unknown to the Awards Committee members.
