“Bridge between VET and SME’s”

State Education Development Agency (Latvia) and Foundation Archimedes (Estonia) are
pleased to invite you to the Leonardo da Vinci Contact seminar on the theme “Bridge between
VET and SME’s”.
Theme and aims
The aim of the seminar is to provide opportunities for organisations to discuss and prepare mobility,
partnership and transfer of innovation projects with the aim to bring closer cooperation and needs of
labour market and education.
National and European authorities, enterprises (companies) and social partners have taken various
steps towards developing training for employees, particularly in SMEs. Nonetheless, major
challenges persist in developing and maintaining skills levels throughout an individual’s
professional life. Moreover, many studies indicate a clear discrepancy between the skills of
employees and the needs of SME. Partnership between businesses and education institutions can
help to ensure an adequate supply of highly skilled employees. Improved vocational training means
more economic opportunities, better quality of services and the ability of European companies to
compete in the global marketplace.
This contact seminar aims at bringing together representatives of vocational education and training
institutions and those of the business sector (SME), as well as to enable them to find partners for
future mobility, LdV partnerships and/or transfer of innovation projects, and carry out preliminary
discussions about the projects with their prospective partners.
Target group
The seminar is open for all kinds of vocational education and training institutions, business
representatives, social partners who wish to cooperate in mobility, partnership and transfer of
innovation projects.
Registration
The seminar will be held in two Baltic countries in order to give you a broader possibility to
establish new contacts. The organizers have foreseen individual wishes of the participants and
therefore we offer you to choose to return to your home country either from Tallinn or from Riga.
The seminar fee is 450 EUR, which includes four night accommodation, transfers, meals and
cultural programme. Travel costs are not included in the fee. Participation fee and travel costs can
be financed through Preparatory Visit grant. Please contact your National Agency for more
information regarding the grant.
