CANADIAN FOUNDATION GRADUATE FELLOWSHIP GRANTS
DEADLINE APRIL 17, 2015
Graduate fellowship grants of up to $1,000 each are now available for the 20152016 academic year. They will be awarded on the basis of each candidate's
scholarship, capacity for leadership and good citizenship (as indicated by
community, university, and fraternal activities), and need for financial assistance.
Fellowships are open to members of Phi Gamma Delta initiated by or affiliated
with chapters in Canada for graduate study at a fully accredited institution.
GRANT REGULATIONS
1.
All applicants must have received a bachelor's degree from a fully
accredited college or university and be members in good standing of The
Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
2.
Acceptance of a Foundation fellowship grant imposes an obligation to begin
and complete a year of full-time graduate study in 2015-2016. Brothers
who will finish graduate school during the 2015-2016 school year may be
considered for a partial fellowship.
3.
Fellowships will be distributed directly to the Fellowship recipient.
4.
Any successful applicant who has not been accepted by April 17, 2015 as a
graduate student for the course of study specified in his application may
forfeit the fellowship. The Foundation reserves the right to cancel the grant
and award it to another qualified Brother.
Graduate fellowships awarded by the Foundation are grants, not loans.
Fellowship recipients are encouraged to do whatever they can, when
they are financially able, to assure that the Foundation continues to
have the resources to grant such assistance to deserving Brothers in the
future.
FELLOWSHIP GRANT APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1.
The application must be completed in full, preferably typed. If using a computer, be
careful to ensure that ALL the information requested is included; if hand written, please
print to ensure its legibility. Use only this current application form or facsimile thereof if
you are using a computer; older application forms ask for different information and will
not be accepted. DO NOT ANSWER questions with "see attached," as your application
will be disqualified.

Complete applications should include application, cover letter, letter of recommendation,
transcripts and photos (all may be sent under separate cover), but each must be
postmarked by midnight, APRIL 17, 2015. It is the applicant's responsibility to verify
that all application requirements have arrived at the Foundation office in Lexington, KY
by the deadline stated on this application. Late applications will not be accepted. If

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST CONTAIN THE FOLLOWING:
a.
Official transcripts of your academic records from all undergraduate and
additional graduate institutions attended including the final Spring 2015 semester
grades. Applicants should also submit a letter of acceptance or proof of
enrollment in an accredited graduate school by August 31, 2015.
b.
A letter of application stating your career objective, where you expect to enroll for
graduate study and an explanation regarding your financial need. NOTE: Please
attach this letter to the front of the application.
c.
One letter of recommendation. This letter should be from a faculty member in
your major or an administrative official of your university. Letters from
undergraduates are unacceptable. This letter must be dated and addressed to the
Selection Committee and may not be more than 12 months old.
