ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF IDAHO STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT SENATE SESSION XLV TERM I IN THE SENATE RESOLUTION 517 BY KATE CHRISTIAENS SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES SPONSORED BY KATE CHRISTIAENS SCHOOL OF GRADUATE STUDIES DANIEL STEVENSON COLLEGE OF EDUCATION The purpose of this resolution is to officially record the student body’s support for construction of an Anatomy and Physiology lab at Idaho State University’s Meridian Health Science Center in Meridian, Idaho. WHEREAS: By offering 75 percent of the state’s health professional degree programs in Idaho, Idaho State University is considered to be the leader in Idaho’s health sciences education. The Meridian Health Science Center is no different with offering 19 out of the 35 degrees/options that make up ISU’s Division of Health Science. WHEREAS: Anatomy and Physiology (BIOLOGY 3301) is considered to be a required course in all degrees that are within the Division of Health Sciences. Accompanying this course is the required co-requisite course of BIOLOGY 3301L which is in-class laboratory portion. WHEREAS: Current Anatomy and Physiology courses that are presented in-person are located on the ISU’s main campus in Pocatello, Idaho. Students obtaining a degree within the Division of Health Science that are located on Idaho State University's Meridian, Twin Falls, and Idaho Falls campuses are required to complete their Anatomy and Physiology course and additional lab component online. WHEREAS: ISU’s Meridian Health Science Center currently serves over 700 Division of Health Science students. BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED: The student body of Idaho State University calls for construction of an Anatomy and Physiology lab at Idaho State University’s Meridian Health Science Center in Meridian, Idaho.
