Please be aware that you cannot count any grade below a C in an English course toward this degree.
You must complete the following 45 units, with at least 18 units taken at NAU.
 12 units of lower-division coursework, including courses from at least 9 units of 200-level courses from at least three of the
following four areas:

Literature courses include ENG 130, 230, 231, 232, 241, 242, 243, 245, 247, 251, 252, 253, and 261.
Rhetoric courses include ENG 110, 210, and 211.
Creative Writing courses include ENG 270, 271, and 272.
Linguistics courses include ENG 121, 220, 223.
 One of ENG 302W, 305W, 310W, 313W, 360W, and 370W, each of which meets NAU’s junior writing requirements (3 units).
 12 additional units of ENG coursework at the 300 level.
 12 units at the 400 level, including at least 9 units from ENG 410C, 411C, 420C, 421C, 422C, 431C, 441C, 445C, 451C, 460C,
461C, 470C, 471C, and 472C, which meet NAU’s senior capstone requirement.
 6 additional units of ENG coursework.
You must demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English that is equivalent to four terms of university coursework in the
same language. You may satisfy this requirement by taking language courses or by testing out of all or part of it by taking CLEP
exams arranged by NAU’s Counseling and Testing Center.
