Field, Weedsport, NY On Route 31 about one-half mile east of thruway exit 40 OPEN MEAT GOAT SHOW Judge: to follow Saturday, July 11, 2015 10:00 AM Superintendent: Kay Kotwica Show secretary: Kay Kotwica Entries must be postmarked by July 1, 2015 Check in is on Friday, July 10, 2015 between 10:00 am and 10:00 pm, or Saturday morning, July 11, between 7:00 and 9:30 am. Registration papers are not checked; we assume you are all honest and have entered your goats in the correct division and age group. All goats MUST be on the grounds by 9:00 AM Saturday, July 11, 2015 and must be penned. All goats MUST be scrapie ear tagged, or tattooed with appropriate registration identification (bring registration papers if you do not use scrapie tags), and accompanied by a current health certificate. No exceptions. Rabies vaccination recommended but not required. ALL ANIMALS MUST BE HEALTHY, The rules of New York State Ag and Markets will be in effect for this show. No visible signs of abscesses or other contagious diseases (pinkeye, soremouth, ringworm, etc.) will be allowed. In case of a discrepancy, or for rules not adequately covered, the show committee decision will be final. A New York State veterinarian will be checking health papers. No additions or changes after 9:30 am Saturday, July 11, 2015; deletions only. Substitutions can be made for no extra fee prior to 9:30 on Saturday. All entries in classes 1 and 2 will be weighed if entries warrant splitting the classes. The weighing will be done near the show ring at 8:30 am Saturday. Pens are 5’ by 6’ and exhibitors must bring their own bedding. Straw or shavings acceptable. No charge for pens; tack pens will be available, space permitting. Exhibitor is responsible for cleaning pens before departure. All animals are to be penned, or on a lead. No loose animals, please. This is for everyone’s safety and enjoyment of the fair. Ribbons will be awarded in all classes, with placings 1 - 5 for the regular classes and rosettes for the championship classes. Premiums for placings 1 through 3 are $12.00, $8.00, and $5.00 in the regular classes. No premiums in the championship classes. NOTE: We are adhering to USDA regulations that no doe having kidded within one month prior to the Fair, or due to kid within one month from the date of the Fair, is to be at the show. This will be enforced. Exhibitors’ vehicles are permitted on the grounds for loading and unloading animals only; parking is in an area adjacent to the fairgrounds. 1 Class Schedule MEAT CLASSES (cannot enter Breeding Stock Classes) Weights to be determined at show for classes 1 and 2 Class 1 - Open Meat animal, any sex; class will split into weight groups if entries warrant Class 2 - Market wethers - owned or leased and shown by a youth; class will be split into weight groups if entries warrant Class 3 - Champion & Reserve Champion meat animal YOUTH CLASSES Class 4 – Senior youth showmanship, 12 years to under 19 years as of January 1, 2015 youth must have owned, raised, leased, or trained the goat Class 5 - Junior youth showmanship, under 12 years of age; youth must have owned, raised, leased or trained the goat Class 6 – Adult showmanship, 19 years and older Class 7 - PeeWee youth showmanship, 5 years and under; “helper” recommended.
