Traveler:__________________________________
This is your official World Traveler Passport. You
will have the opportunity to visit various
civilizations from around the world and throughout
the ages. The goal is to read as many books from
as many civilizations as possible. However, you
must read at least one book and complete one
project from each region. For each civilization you
visit, complete the World Traveler Passport
information and color in the correct region on the
map.

Use the suggested titles to assist you in your
selection, but feel free to ask your librarian and Ms.
Tini about books that are not on the list.

Receive a stamp for each region you “visit”.
Prehistoric
Project Choices:
1. Write a letter to your main character,
commenting on what you think of what s/he
did in a significant event in the story (1-2
pages)
2. Write a title for each chapter in the story, and
rewrite one of the chapters from a different
character’s perspective. (1-2 pages)
3. Find several lines that you like in the book.
Illustrate the lines in color, and write a
paragraph describing why you like the lines,
and what you were trying to capture in your
illustration.
4. Find the “heart” of the story (the main idea).
Write it out, and choose 3-4 points in the
story that support the main idea or “heart”.
Draw an illustration of your ideas.
5. Choose a character in your book and
compare him/her to a character in a movie,
TV program, another book, or someone you
know. How are they alike or different (1-2
pages).
6. Describe how the setting in your story affects
the characters and events. Place your story
in a new setting and show how it would
change the story (1-2 pages).
7. Create a diorama of an important event in
the story. Write an important line or quote
from the story on the diorama. Be creative.
Talk to Ms. McBride about a different idea!
