Prehistoric Project Choices: 1. Write a letter to your main character, commenting on what you think of what s/he did in a significant event in the story (1-2 pages) 2. Write a title for each chapter in the story, and rewrite one of the chapters from a different character’s perspective. (1-2 pages) 3. Find several lines that you like in the book. Illustrate the lines in color, and write a paragraph describing why you like the lines, and what you were trying to capture in your illustration. 4. Find the “heart” of the story (the main idea). Write it out, and choose 3-4 points in the story that support the main idea or “heart”. Draw an illustration of your ideas. 5. Choose a character in your book and compare him/her to a character in a movie, TV program, another book, or someone you know. How are they alike or different (1-2 pages). 6. Describe how the setting in your story affects the characters and events. Place your story in a new setting and show how it would change the story (1-2 pages). 7. Create a diorama of an important event in the story. Write an important line or quote from the story on the diorama. Be creative. Talk to Ms. McBride about a different idea!
