These gases are used in the sterilization of a variety of medical devices, surgical equipment, and similar materials used in the healthcare industry. We utilize special cylinder cleaning and inspection procedures to ensure the purity of these products, minimizing polymer problems. Liquid Helium Helium is used as a component of breathing mixtures to reduce the density of the mixture to facilitate breathing under certain physical and physiological conditions. In Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machines, helium cools electromagnetic coils to superconductive levels. This decreases the metal's ordinary resistance to the electrical current and results in high-resolution images. Nitrogen Nitrogen is used as a component in many gas mixtures and as a displacement medium for sterile equipment. It is also used as a non-oxidizing displacement medium in pharmaceutical vials and as a propellant in pressurized aerosol type dispensers.
