Page 1 of 4 FIELD MANUFACTURING Review of Glass Container Manufacturing unit standards Subfield Glass and Glazing Domain Glass Container Manufacturing Id 18768-18772, 18919-18924 The Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation Incorporated (PaMPITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above. Date new versions published November 2006 Planned review date December 2010 Summary of review and consultation process After use of all the registered unit standards for three years, it had become apparent that there were quite extensive gaps in the skills and knowledge specified at all levels of the Glass Container Manufacturing unit standards. Furthermore, experience with training delivery and assessment of these unit standards had identified a number of aspects that needed some adjustments or amendments. This review was seen as a crucial part of a continued drive towards skill enhancement in this sector. As training towards these unit standards is delivered and assessed exclusively on a large single site, the required feedback from training, assessment, and moderation needed for this review had been progressively accumulated on that site. A small team of staff involved with training delivery and assessment was assembled to provide the main input into this review. Their expertise was also supplemented by a number of other specialists who all actively contributed as required. The review involved regular meetings over a period of four months. The review resulted in modifications to eight unit standards, with three unit standards designated as expiring, five replacement unit standards and eight new unit standards to better meet industry needs. Main changes resulting from the review Unit standard 18768 had its credit value increased, performance criteria 1.7-1.9 added, and the range for performance criteria 2.4 extended slightly. Minor wording changes were also made in both elements to clarify performance requirements. Unit standard 18769 had its title and entry information amended. Performance criteria 2.1 and 2.7 were added, performance criteria 2.2 and 2.3 were rewritten, and previous performance criteria 1.2 and 2.4 were removed. The ranges for performance criteria 1.1 and 2.8 were amended and the range for performance criterion 2.4 was removed. The evidence requirements for performance criteria 2.8, 2.9, and 2.10 were amended. Unit standard 18770 had its title and the evidence requirements for element 1 amended. A range was added to performance criterion 1.1 and performance criterion 1.3 was reworded, to clarify performance requirements. Unit standards 23064 and 23065 replaced unit standard 18771. D:\106735002.doc 15/02/2016 Page 2 of 4 Unit standard 18772 had previous element 2 removed, and amendments were made to the wording of range statements in performance criteria 1.1, 2.1, 2.2, and 2.3. Element 4, and performance criterion 4.3 were amended. The evidence requirements for performance criteria2.2-2.5, and element 4 were amended. Unit standard 18919 had its entry information amended and its level decreased as a result of provider feedback. Unit standard 18920 had performance criterion 2.1 added, a range was added to performance criterion 2.3, and the order of performance criterion 2.4 was changed. Amendments were made to the range statements in performance criteria 1.2 and 2.4. Unit standard 23062 replaced unit standard 18921. Unit standard 18922 had the title changed and the order of elements 1 and 2 reversed. Element 1 had its range amended and performance criterion 1.1 added, while element 2 was amended and previous performance criterion 2.4 removed. Element 3 was amended. Unit standards 23067 and 23068 replaced unit standard 18923. Unit standard 18924 had its credit value increased as a result of provider feedback. Element 1 was amended, new performance criteria 2.2, 2.4, and 2.5 were added, and the wording of performance criteria 2.1 and 2.3 was amended with a range also added to performance criterion 2.1. The accreditation options stated in the unit standards were updated to match PaMPITO's revised AMAP. Special Notes were edited, and modified where required, to ensure consistency with unit standard content, and in terms of style and format among unit standards. Eight new unit standards have been developed. Unit standards categorised as category C expire at the end of December 2007.
