LEADERSHIP COUNCIL REMARKS H. C. BISSELL October 4, 2010 Thank you all for being here this morning. As you know, I constantly think about us getting better and better. I try to use the analogy that we are in a series of evolutionary events very much like a small child. We have crawled, we are walking and we want to run. We want to get better and how do we get better? We get better by a number of things that all of you are familiar with, but I think the glue that binds us is the Franchise Player Traits. At the apex of the Franchise Player Traits pyramid is the Slight Edge. Slight edges are what we have to find and what we have to use to be able to run in the fashion that we want to run. Running to me is the equivalent of the best. We are getting up to speed, we are going to run and we are going to be an organization that has not been seen in terms of how good we will be. The way we are getting there is through slight edges. We all have to find out what are our slight edges. This morning the feature presentation to this group is about one of our greatest slight edges which is our Photography Department. Can you tell me what you do in 30 seconds or less? I can’t but I believe a photograph is worth 1,000 words. Therefore, if I have a few photographs, I can tell you a lot about what I do. We just won the International Business Park of The Year Award and could we have won that award without photography? I believe photography enabled Debbie Green and her group that made the presentation to have a much easier job as they had 45 minutes to present a 535-acre office park to a group without taking them on a tour. As you can tell, photography helps a great deal. Photography is one of our slight edges and we have many more. Graphics, IT, electronic media the fact that we have a marketing person who can get out any story that you want such as pictures of the winner of the Knotts Cup and the results of it in The Observer. I know you will enjoy the presentation this morning and I know as I am sure you know that slight edges are the difference and will take us where we want to go. Thank you.
