Kleider machen Leute Eine Modeschau! People may think that the hottest fashion designs come from Paris, but you and Heidi Klum know that they actually come from Germany! Heidi has invited you and your partner to put together an outfit for her new show, Project Runway, and then model it! Students will work in pairs for this activity. One student will be das Modell and the other will be the commentator, describing the model. You should put the model’s outfit together first so that you can develop the description for the commentator. On the day of our Modeschau, each model will walk down the catwalk (sweet music optional), striking some awesome poses. While the model is posing, the commentator will describe the outfit to the audience – possible things to include are colors, sizes, opinions about the clothing and prices. Then, the model will introduce him/herself to the audience, giving as much detail as possible – possible things to include are name, where you come from, what you like to do in your freetime, opinions about your clothes, favorite clothing items/colors. Each person is responsible for a minimum of 5 statements (commentator: 5 statements about the clothing / model: 5 statements about him/herself). No, you may not use notecards! Check out the rubric below for details. Note the difference between “Average” and “Excellent.” Strive for the “Excellent”!
