Report No. 27/15

CHALFONT ST GILES PARISH COUNCIL

A meeting of the Planning Committee was held on Wednesday, 24 June 2015 in the Garden Centre, School

Lane, at 8.00 p.m.

Present : Mr D Bray ( Chairman ), and the Clerk.

Due to the lack of a quorum, but to meet Local Planning Authority deadlines, this meeting was held on an advisory basis, to be ratified by the Parish Council.

Public Forum None.

1. Minutes of the meeting held on 10 June were signed as a true record.

2. Matters arising from the Minutes : None.

3. Apologies for absence : Mesdames J Chamberlain, J Lomas, and R Massey.

4. Declarations of Interest : None.

5. Correspondence : None.

6. Planning applications -

CH/2015/0841/NMA Thomas Valentine House, Deanway : replacement of part tile hung and part brick frontage with white coloured K-

Rend type render.

No objections.

For information

CH/2015/0890/SA Glenbeigh, 1A Orchard Road : application for a Certificate of Lawfulness for a proposed operation relating to extension of dropped kerb.

Noted.

CH/2015/0978/FA Little Leighs, Jordans Lane : detached double garage and formation of new vehicular access.

The Parish Council objects to this application. This area of the Residential Green Belt Settlement is characterised by dwellings set well back from the road frontage in spacious plots and there are no other properties with buildings similarly positioned. By reason of its design, size, and siting in front of the dwelling, and closer to the front boundary, the resultant development appears as an incongruous form of development, out of keeping with the street scene to the detriment of the character of the area, and would set an unwelcome precedent.

The Parish Council has concerns over the proposed new access, which would be positioned close to bends, and recommends that this be refused subject to the recommendations of the Highways Authority.

For information

CH/2015/0995/EU Highgarth, Potkiln Lane : application for a Certificate of Lawfulness for an existing use relating to the use of land as part of the residential garden land.

Noted.

CH/2015/1002/FA Pine Cottage, London Road : replacement single storey side extension with a two storey to include integral garage, replacement pitched roof to single storey rear extension, replacement roof to main dwelling, rear retaining wall to patio area.

The Parish Council objects to this application. The proposed two storey extension appears too close to the boundary with neighbouring

Torside. Its bulk and height appears seriously bulky and overbearing, detrimentally reducing its daylight, and enjoyment of its amenities.

7. Items of urgent report at the discretion of the Chairman None.

The meeting ended at 8.38 p.m.
