Cyprus. It is registered with the ministry of education and is one of the largest private institutions in
the Republic of Cyprus. It offers a broad range of diploma, degree and master courses in the areas of
science, engineering, business, tourism, arts, media and education. Founded in 1965 the institute is
well respected nationally and internationally for its tradition of academic excellence and leading edge
research.

Required Qualifications:
1. All above teaching positions require all candidates to hold a PhD (Doctorate Diploma).
2. Apart from academic qualifications candidates should also possess research experience
and/or administrative work in academia. Research experience is shown through publications
in academic periodicals and participation in funded research projects. The level of research
and administrative experience is depended upon the rank required.
3. Good knowledge of the English Language and the ability to teach in the English language.
The teaching language of the Institution is English.

Job description:
FIT faculty is organized in five ranks, namely, Instructor, Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate
Professor, Professor. For all ranks except Instructor a PhD is mandatory (excluding the Art, Design
and Communication Department). Indicative salary scales for academic year 2003-2004 are provided
below:

Duties and Responsibilities.
Faculty at the Lecturer / Professor rank are involved in
 teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes,
 research activities,
 Institute administration.
Teaching load depends on the rank and varies according to the load imposed on a faculty member by
other activities. In any case the following teaching loads per rank must not be exceeded:

weeks at Christmas, two weeks at Easter, two months during summer).

16 days public holidays
