built in the 18th century in italian style, former residence of spanish borbon dinasty kings. its
vast and impressive interior spaces host numerous art pieces of paintings, tapestries, clocks,
cristals. the tour includes the high-lights of the history and architecture of the city of madrid.

toledo full day excursion.
toledo is one of the spanish cities with the greatest wealth of monuments. known as the
“city of the three cultures”, because christians, arabs and jews lived together there for
centuries, behind its walls toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy in the form of
churches, palaces, fortresses, mosques and synagogues. this great diversity of artistic styles
makes the old quarter of the capital of la mancha a real open-air museum, which has led to
it being declared a world heritage site.

the tour starts at the isla de la cartuja which was chosen as the site for the expo’92, an
appropriate reflection of the world at the end of the 20th century. laid out in 1929 for the
ibero-american exhibition, the plaza de españa and adjoining maria luisa park are among
the most pleasant and impressive public spaces in spain. located east of the cathedral, they
are a perfect base from where to explore the highlights of the city. nearby is seville’s old
jewish quarter, the barrio de santa cruz with its narrow white alleys, flowered patios and
wrought ironed balconies.

córdoba excursion based on regular basis.
córdoba has throughout history been a cultural melting pot, providing a powerful source of
inspiration to poets and artists. more than 2,000 years are contained in it’s history. jews,
muslims and christians have left a definite mark, enriching the city throughout centuries and
making córdoba a city of tolerance. this cultural richness is epitomized in the mosque of
córdoba, a structure of universal magnificence. the construction of the mosque begun in the
year 785. the building evolved over centuries and was added to by various arab kings, it is
therefore a mixture of different architectural styles. inside, a forest of about 850 columns
make for a repetitive motif of crisscrossing alleys not unlike the effect of a hall off mirrors.
after the visit to the mosque, enjoy a walk through the nearby jewish quarter and the
calleja de las flores. short visit to the only remaining synagogue of the city.

known as the capital of costa del sol, málaga is the major coastal city of andalucia. founded
by the phoenicians more than 3000 years ago and later conquered by carthaginians,
romans, visigoths and moors. malaga has a colourful history which is well preserved in its
monuments and remains around town. today malaga is a cosmopolitan city, which apart
from the tourist industry, has spain’s second largest port and third largest international
airport.

explore valencia, through a visit to the city’s most important monuments, most of them
located within a walking distance from the city’s main square:
• plaza del ayuntamiento (town hall square): a triangular main square presided over by the
town hall, undoubtedly a meeting point for inhabitants.
• central market: a huge iron, glass and tile art nouveau building, one of the most attractive
markets in europe.
• former silk exchange “la lonja”: an exquisite late gothic hall, used as a commodities
exchange.
• cathedral: a building originally built in 1262, standing on the site of a former mosque.
• turia river bed gardens: a long strip of gardens, athletic fields and playgrounds crossed by
a dozen medieval bridges.
• ciutat de les arts i les ciències (city of arts & sciences): a great complex focusing on the
themes of art, science and nature.

antoni gaudí, visionary architect during barcelona's modernista (art nouveau) period early last
century, graced barcelona with nearly all his extraordinary and beautiful buildings. no less than 7
have been listed as world heritage by unesco.
we will explain what makes them extraordinary: the detail, the symbols, the structural secrets,
the technical innovation, and give you a guided tour of park güell and the sagrada família.

half day montserrat sightseeing based on regular basis.
montserrat and the penedès region are symbolic of the two poles of the catalan character:
the spiritual and the celebratory. montserrat, an imposing rocky outcrop, smoothed away by
years of wind and rain, is the holy mountain of catalonia, which houses the revered image
of the black virgin. the penedès region, also located very near barcelona, is the area
traditionally associated with producing cava –the local variety of champagne- and white and
red wines. this trail ends with a tour of some of the region’s oldest wineries, and with a
tasting of their products.
