Staff are friendly and always at hand to answer any questions or offer advice. We offer an exciting and stimulating programme with an emphasis on clinical training. Rotations include clinical (covering medicine, surgery, elderly care, haematology and paediatrics), dispensary, purchasing and medicines information. Four weeks will be spent in our newly expanded specialist aseptic suite, which is involved in cytotoxic reconstitution, CIVAS and adult/baby TPN. We offer a PCT placement and time can be spent in areas of the hospital which interest you, including working with other health care professionals. Provision can be made for you to visit other hospitals to gain further insight into other specialist areas. You will be involved in our ward-based pharmacy teams and will be expected to take on the role of pharmacist towards the end of your placement. A pharmacist-run anticoagulation service operates in the hospital, and you will be trained to counsel new patients on warfarin. A personal tutor will have weekly meetings to provide support and guidance throughout the year. Accommodation may be available on site, if required. Location: The hospital is minutes away from Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester town centres. There is a variety of shops and entertainment facilities available nearby, including Bluewater and Lakeside. We have easy access to London (40 minutes by rail or road).
