She was extremely good at it. The ARB committee still has very capable members and one of them will become the “acting chairperson” until the next Board Meeting when they can be officially approved as the permanent Chair. We welcome ARB volunteer, Steve Abbey, who has agreed to fill in and serve as our acting chairperson picking up where Sue has left off. Thank you Steve! And thank you Sue for all your years of service to this community! ARB requests can be sent to Steve Abbey at steve.abbey@comcast.net or he can be reached at 288-6008. Also ARB requests may be forwarded to our management company or to any Board member who will be sure Steve and the ARB get them to review. Hurricane Season! Attached to this newsletter is a checklist for Hurricane Preparedness. We are hoping you will not need it; however, we recommend being prepared. We can use volunteers who are willing to help us install storm shutters on the clubhouse if needed. Let me know if you can be called upon in the event the need arises. New Pool Furniture Three outdoor tables, twelve chairs and four lounge chairs were recently purchased, transported and assembled on our pool deck. Thank you to our community volunteers Mike Viox and Phil Poston. Alligator Control Occasionally neighbors report seeing an alligator in the lake or elsewhere in our community. Florida Game Commission will pick these gators up without charge and destroy them. The gator must be at least four foot long or longer when you call them. The Florida phone number to call is 866-392-4286. HOA Financial Update As of April 30, 2011, the HOA Total Revenue was $183,900, Total Expenses were $185,324, and we are slightly over budget by $1,424. We still expect to finish the year within our Budget. Garage Sale to be held Saturday June 25th 7AM to 4PM We will open the front gates on June 25th for anyone wishing to hold a garage sale. We provide an opportunity, from time to time, for homeowners to hold their own garage sale. Unfortunately garage sales often cause traffic problems and allow unknown visitors to enter our neighborhood. Since security is a concern for our gated community, our HOA Board established a policy of designating three dates per year to allow homeowners to hold Garage Sales. The next two available garage sale dates this year are: Saturday, June 25th and Saturday, October 29th. If you are interested in having a garage sale, please plan on using one of these dates. Also, please help manage your garage sale by not allowing cars to park on lawns, block the streets or interfere with your neighbor’s property. Street Light Out? Street Lights are maintained by FPL. If you see a light burned out or flickering, please help by reporting it to FPL so that it can be repaired. There is no charge to you or our community for this service. FPL has a Streetlight Out reporting form that you can fill out online at www.fpl.com You may also report the details to me giving the exact location of the light pole. Some of us are raising butterfly-attracting and host plants in our own gardens. Therefore, we do not want pesticides sprayed on those plants. We are working with our landscaper, CLA, to evaluate their spraying program. We may be able to have them skip spraying certain yards. However, those homeowners would have to be responsible for noticing and treating any plants that become infested or develop disease. Let me, Donna, know if you have any concerns about insecticides on your property. * * * * * * * * DID WE READ THAT CORRECTLY?
