Hurricane Preparedness
In preparation of a forecasted Hurricane, there are specific on site actions that should take place in
conjunction with the overall preparedness planning.
A Storm Team will be on duty at FirstService Residential handling incoming concerns storm related
community problems. All Board members are receiving this notice advising of precautionary measures
for your site prior to the storm arriving. The on-site staff at your location will take measures as directed
to secure your community.
ADDITIONALLY:

All garage access gates be opened prior to any potential power outages to assure vehicles
have garage access throughout the outage.

All potted plants, wind chimes, or patio furniture on unit balconies should be removed and
stored.

All roof top hatches or doors should be secured prior to the onset of the storm. Any roof top
equipment that could potential be blown free should be secured or removed prior to the
onset of the storm.

Roof top HVAC equipment may potentially be moved by the force of the winds. This
equipment should be checked once the storm has subsided.

If you plan on evacuating please remove food from your refrigerator and dispose it.

If you decide to evacuate please turn off the main breaker in your unit. If the power goes out
when it is restored there may be power surges.

If you plan on evacuating please leave your contact information at the front desk i.e. mobile
number and email address.

Any construction equipment or debris should be removed from your site

Any storm related concern should first be directed to your on-site staff whenever possible for
immediate assistance. All other concerns can be directed to FirstService Residential at 713932-1122.
