8/30/11 Minutes Baseball Booster Meeting
Coach Tom Stanton spoke in detail about the Fall conditioning program schedule as follows:
6:45am workouts with Jeremy McCann will be held Monday, Thursday, & Friday
mornings. Football is in the weightroom on Tues/Wed. am.
Open Field (no instruction, can do hitting, field work on own) will be Monday, Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday after school. On Tuesday afternoons, Coach McCann will do agility
training. This begins Tues. 9/6/11.
Cost for the fall program will be between $50-$75 for Coach McCann's time. The fall
program ends on 12/17/11 at the beginning of Christmas break. Must turn in EL2, EL3 and
Athl. Code Conduct forms to play.
Coach Stanton also discussed the program overall, FHSAA rules, expectations for the
players, and tryouts which will be held 1/16-1/17/12. There will be no field work allowed 2
weeks prior to tryouts. PVHS is in District 4-5A with Nease, Matanzas and Menendez.
There will be approx. 25 JV games this year.
Elections were held for Liaison/Pres. which confirmed Sean McKenna, Treasurer, Bill
Chrabot and Secretary, Trisha Heffner.
Planet HS and recruiting volunteers for this was discussed. A Title Sponsor is needed. Also
discussed the need for volunteers for Team Meals, Apparel, Concessions, Golf Tournament,
Banners, Game Day Activities, Field Maintenance, Senior Night & Year End
Banquet. Painting at field will be in December.
Joy Byers has scheduled Urban Flats wine tasting for 10/25/11. Tickets will soon be
available for sale. Ross Byers also raised the fundraiser opportunity of selling Christmas
trees for $50, ordering them through PVPC/Tim Early and this will proceed.
Trish Heffner discussed the success of the Fundraising merchant card. We plan to order
more cards in the future and have our regular players sell them as we began the project
with only summer ball players. Most of the $/cards has been collected, but there are a few
outstanding.
Golf Tournament will be on 11/11/11 at Windsor Parke. Flyers/sign ups will be available
soon. There will be lunch prior and dinner after, auction items, contests and lot of
fun. Need 80-100 players and sponsors. Volunteer meeting will be set up soon at Bogey Grill.
Must be a licensed driver in each cart.
