Sustainability professionals in the educational sector can now access a rapidly expanding suite of 320+
innovative Green Gown Award projects from 2011-2014, which includes best practice guides, case studies,
videos and reports from a range of institutions. Also, with our agreement with the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) we’re hoping to bring new knowledge to the Exchange to radically increase the sharing
of the Southern and Northern Hemispheres understanding on what sustainability means for an education
institution.
EAUC CEO Iain Patton says: “This is a critical and exciting time in the development of the Sustainability
Exchange, bringing on board new partners and sponsors has allowed us to garner greater expertise and
insights to make it the number one resource for sustainability in UK education. Improvements to the
Exchange have helped to bring together even more best practice and sustainability resources into one free
and accessible place. We hope it will continue to provide organisations and professionals in the education
tertiary sector with the latest management information and techniques to develop their sustainability
programmes. We’re delighted with the support and response we’ve received from all our partners and
sponsors on this vital sector resource.”
The Sustainability Exchange is a free resource launched in 2012 with the support of the Higher Education
Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to inspire the tertiary education sector. We welcome everyone to
share their knowledge and experience with the Exchange so we can disseminate it to our growing list of
users across further and higher education. For more information on the Sustainability Exchange, please visit
