Bitches Progestrone
The release of progestrone from the ovary and its subsquent rise to an average of two to three ngm,
corresponds with luteinizing hormone release from the pituitary gland and signifies the start of the
ovulation process. The rise of progestrone greater than five ngms (five to eight ngm) indicates that
ovalulation has occurred. Once ovalutation is confirmed the insemination can be implamented in
three to four days. Progestrone not being specific can be tested for many methods. Cortisol release
needs to be a concern when doing progestrone testing as stressed bitches may have a delayed period
between a rise of two to three ngm/ml and the time that the progestrone rises greater than 5 ngm/ml.
Some bitches under stress have been shown not to ovulate even after a rise in progestrone after two
ngm. It is essential if using progestrone testing to confirm that the bitch has risen above five ngm/ml
and has indeed ovalated.

TERMS OF SERVICE
By the signing of this agreement ____________________________________hereinafter (“the Bitch
Owner”) does hereby affirm he/she is the sole owner of the above-referenced Rhodesian Ridgeback
bitch or is acting on behalf of all owners, and has legal right to breed her without further
authorization from any other person. Further, the Bitch Owner certifies this bitch is purebred
Rhodesian Ridgeback of known pedigree and is registered with The American Kennel Club.
The Bitch Owner affirms this bitch is at least 24 months of age and less than 7 years of age at the
time the breeding takes place.
The Bitch Owner attests he/she has the bitch's best welfare at interest and is able and capable of
caring for this bitch if in whelp and for her litter. The Bitch Owner will provide all necessities,
including veterinary care, adequate food, water, and shelter for the dam and puppies.
The Bitch Owner does hereby certify this bitch has not produced a litter within the preceding
12month period.
Further, the Bitch Owner attests that should a litter occur from this mating it will not result in the
Bitch Owner producing over a total number of 8 (eight) litters. Produced within a 24 (twenty-four)
month period; owned or co-owned, unless the Stud Dog Owner shall have been informed of such
facts and has added his initials at this paragraph. Stud Dog Owner’s initials: _________.
The Stud Dog Owner is not obligated to sign the litter registration papers, on the litter until the stud
fee paid in full and confirmation of terms and conditions of this Agreement are complied with by the
Bitch Owner.
The Bitch Owner understands it is his/her responsibility to ensure all puppies, resulting from the
breeding have their vaccinations against disease and have a complete veterinary examination before
placement.
The Bitch Owner does hereby agree and make absolute promise; he/she has read and will adhere to
the current Breeders Code of Ethics, as established by the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United
States, whether or not the Bitch Owner is a member of that organization.
The Bitch Owner also agrees to maintain current records from this litter of persons whom purchased
a puppy. To keep track of every puppy from this litter and periodically check on the welfare of each.
The Bitch Owner also agrees to make known to the Stud Dog Owner a list of puppy owners.
The Bitch Owner agrees to be responsible for the offspring of this breeding and further agrees to
place puppies from this litter only after written a contract that shall include the following provisions:
1. A “breeder return clause” which provides, at a minimum, for return of puppies to the Bitch
Owner should a recipient of a puppy from this litter be unable or unwilling to keep the
puppy. The Bitch Owner agrees he will not knowingly allow the puppies/dogs resulting from
this breeding to be placed into a shelter or pound.
2. A spay/neuter agreement wherein any puppy which has or develops any characteristic,
defect, or condition which renders the puppy non-breeding quality. Including, but not
limited to, ridgelessness, less than or more than two crowns on ridge. Hip or elbow
displaysia, eye or serious thyroid abnormality shall be spayed/neutered immediately or, in the
case of a puppy less than six months old, as soon as practicable for the health of the puppy.
The contract shall also provide for the spay/neuter of any puppy placed as a nonconformation show puppy, regardless of the existence of any characteristic, defect or
condition which renders the puppy non-breeding quality.
The Stud Dog Owner agrees she will cooperate with all efforts to initially place or re-place a puppy
from this litter in a suitable home. In addition, to cooperate with efforts to recover any puppy from
this litter from any shelter, pound or any dog rescue/recovery organization or from any placement
which has become contrary to the best welfare of the puppy/dog.
The Stud Dog Owner guarantees from this breeding at least 2 live births.

In the case that the Stud Dog Owner chooses a puppy from this litter in lieu or in addition to a
monetary stud fee. Then the Stud Dog Owner shall have first pick of the litter before any
puppy from that litter is promised to any other person. The Stud Dog Owner shall choose this
puppy on or before the 60th day after the litter is whelped.
Stud Dog Owner has the right to use their kennel name upon the naming of this puppy and has
the option of using the Bitch Owner’s kennel name.
Should the Stud Dog Owner choose a puppy in lieu or in addition to a monetary stud fee. The
Stud Dog Owner shall have the right to keep, sell, or place the puppy with a third party under a
co-ownership or sole ownership agreement. Should he choose to sell the puppy, he shall give
the breeder first option to purchase the puppy. If the puppy is placed with, in any way, a third
party, the Stud Dog Owner shall inform the breeder the puppy owner's so the breeder can keep
track of the dog.
Each party hereto acknowledges, due to the nature of this agreement that damages for breach of this
agreement by their nature are difficult to calculate and are not readily ascertainable. As such, should any
party to this agreement, commence civil action for an alleged failure to comply, with the terms of this
agreement. (Other than for failure to pay monetary stud fee or expenses, which are determinable), and
liability therefore is proven. The party in breach agrees to pay the sum of ten thousand dollars
($10,000.00), said sum being liquidated damages, which each party agrees is a reasonable approximation
of such indeterminable damages resulting from such breach. This provision is an essential and nonsevere part of this agreement. In the event that any litigation is commenced, to enforce the terms of this
agreement. The prevailing party shall be entitled to the costs thereof, including, but not limited to,
reasonable attorney's fees, expenses and costs, in addition to any other sum or sums awarded.
This agreement is applicable and pursuant to the laws of Burleson County, State of Texas. The
parties hereto agree that the court of competent jurisdiction within the State of Texas will determine
disputes arising from the terms of this contract.
We the undersigned, have thoroughly read and understand the contents of the entirety of this
agreement and every provision and hereby acknowledge this to be a true and binding contract.
