Skin conditions
Skin condition which are stubborn and long standing, may need multiple
cleansing treatments – but respond well, given time and strict diet control.
Diet restrictions usually include avoidance of milk, curds, sour things, til,
jaggery, fish, urad dal.

Smt. G.V., aged 61
Medical History She has had black patches on her face and neck for the
past two years. Dermatologists suggested an UV protection ointment which
did not help at all. She has also been on cholesterol tablets for a year now,
and also on Evion and calcium tablets since menopause.
Treatment
The patient was given Mahamanjishtadi kashayam, Mahatiktagritham, and
Khadirarishtam. Doorvadi Tailam and Nalpamaradi Tailam were given for
external application. She was told to stop calcium tablets, and reduce
cholestrol tablets by 1/3.
Two weeks later she was prescribed Madhusnuhi churnam, Khadirarishtam,
and her cholestrol tablet was reduced by another 1/3. Another two weeks
later, her patches had almost completely cleared up. She was asked to
continue Mahamanjishtadi kashayam, Mahatikta Gritham, Madhusnuhi
churnam, Khadirarishtam and Kumkumadi tailam as nasal drops (nasyam).
Notes Patient was amazed with the quick and complete improvement. She
says that her relatives are all amazed at this intractable problem responding
so quickly..
Problem completely addressed in a month.
Smt P, aged 5 - Calcutta
Medical History She had a mild skin problem since infancy. After the
typhoid vaccine was given when she turned four, the condition became very
severe. She was given anti-allergens and steroid creams. After three months
of this, homeopathy was tried for a few months. But as the skin worsened
allopathy was restarted. A senior dermatologist in Calcutta was consulted.
As antibiotics were not working, they were put on oral steroids. A fifteen
day course controlled the condition. Then Cyclosporin, a powerful
immunosuppressant, was prescribed. A 50ml bottle cost 5000/-, but the
doctor assured them that the problem would be cured in six months. But they
subsequently discovered that a documented side effect of the drug is blood
cancer. Four other doctors were consulted, who all told them that told them
the dug was dangerous.
They were later told them that as the mother is asthmatic, the child has this
skin allergy and that it is just an inherited condition. They were then referred
to CMC, and went there Oct 2008. They were told that nothing could be
done, and maybe as she grew up she would be better. Curds, milk had been
part of daily diet.
Then a relative from Vijayawada, suggested that they explore Sanjeevani as
they were near Madras. After coming here, and taking the medicines to
Calcutta, they deferred for a week as there had been so many false starts.
Also the diet restrictions of no milk, no sour fruits etc.… worried them. But
after they started the medications in two weeks improvement was
significant.
Treatment
The family would come once every few months for a consultation from
Calcutta. The child was initially advised Darviguduchyadi Kashayam,
Sudarsanam,
Gandhaka
Rasayanam,
Ekavimsathika
Guggulu,
Khadirarishtam,
and
for
external
application
Nalpamaradi/Shatadautam/Nimbadi. She was told to avoid curds, sour
things, til, jaggery, fish and urad.
In the next visit after a few months Mahatikta gritham and Madhusnuhi was
added. After a year’s medication with similar combinations of medicines,
her condition was fully addressed.
The situation had become incurable in allopathy. Also, the child was on
lethal drugs. Now she is completely well.
Smt A, aged 14
Medical History When out in the sun the patient develops rashes and itches.
The rash starts as small as an ant bite, and becomes a red discolored patch
lasting for 6 hours. Patient usually takes Citrazine, or just wraps a wet towel,
and sits under the fan.
Treatment
The patient was prescribed Mahatikta Gritham, Sudarsanam, Kamaduga
Rasa. In a week she was better, and in another week she was completely
well.
Problem completely addressed in 2 weeks.
Smt. A, aged 14
Medical History Patient has been on Atkin's diet including only pulses and
fish.
Treatment
Patient came with complaint of painful boil under arm. She was prescribed
Chandraprabha Vati, Kaisoradi Guggulu, Panchatikta Kashayam,
Sahasradauta Gritham.
Within a week the boil subsided.
Problem completely addressed in 1 week.
Notes As a result of consuming unusually heavy dose of fish she had
started to have heavy menstrual bleeding lasting nine days. She was asked to
stop the Atkin's diet.
