Latin verbs are placed in groups called conjugations. There are four verb conjugations in Latin.
Latin verbs usually have four parts. The 1st part is the ‘I’ form and literally means: I (verb). The 2nd part is called
the present active infinitive and is used when conjugating the verb in the present tense.
An IDIOM is an expression whose meaning is not predictable from the usual meaning. Examples: kick the bucket
or sick as a dog or rub someone the wrong way or raining cats and dogs.
An adverb can modify a verb, adjective, another adverb, a phrase, or a clause. An adverb indicates
manner, time, place, cause, or degree and answers questions such as “how”, “when”, “where”, “how
much”.
A pronoun can replace a noun or another pronoun. Use pronouns like “he”, “which”, and “you”, to make
sentences less cumbersome and less repetitive.
A conjunction links words, phrases, and clauses.
