Budawang Public School Newsletter A vibrant and caring learning community Find us at: Cnr Nurrawallee & Camden Streets, Ulladulla Issue 10 June 20th 2014 Visit from the Shoalhaven Classic Motorcycle Club. Last Friday the Shoalhaven Classic Motorcycle Club came to visit our school. The roar of the engines as they arrived got most of our students in the mood. Nearly all our students had a sit on a motorcycle and lots of our students went from one to the next until it seemed they had tried out every single bike. The Club didn’t just visit to let our students have a turn of the motorcycles; they had a more serious mission. On the day Sheryl accepted a cheque for $2500 on behalf of Budawang School. This money will used to help to build a wonderful new sensory garden behind the Blue class for all our students to use. Thankyou Shoalhaven Classic Motorcycle Club! Footy colours day Between the NRL State of Origin and the Soccer World Cup the students at Budawang have gone footy crazy. And let’s just say “if you can’t beat them, join them”. So on Wednesday we held a Footy Colours day. Many of our students arrived in blue or Maroon and others in green and gold. When they arrived at school and went out into the playground they found blue, maroon, green and gold dress ups to add to their costumes. There was much debate about who would win and loose and which player was the best but, the students were so engaged and happy that I think that Budawang School was the winner on the day . Red class visit the Lady Denman Museum. Last week the red class was lucky enough to go on an excursion to the Lady Denman Museum in Huskisson. We had an amazing day. The museum is named after the Lady Denman Ferry that now lives at the museum. We loved exploring the ferry including using the captains steering wheel and ringing the bell. After finishing looking through the ferry and the rest of the maritime museum we went outside to discover that there was a huge pond with fish to feed and a boardwalk through the mangroves. Wow, what a busy day we had but, boy, it was fun. Green Class We are coming to the end of our horse riding experience. With one week to go we have thoroughly enjoyed it. This week we went on a treasure hunt on our horses, we walked across bridges and rivers and gathered treasure. We have all learned so much and are wondering when we can go again. Yellow Class ‘rrrrrrrr’ The Yellow Class is exploring all things associated with the letter ‘r’ this fortnight. We’ve been reading a book about robots, making a rainbow for the classroom (no pot of gold has shown up yet!), and talking about rabbits, running, rugs, rocks, and rivers! climb.
