2.1
The identification of desirable traits is described in terms of productive value,
ease of management, aesthetic value, and conformation of deer.
2.2
The measurement and recording of desirable traits are described in relation to
types, units and methods of measurement, desirable trait ranges, and recordkeeping systems for deer.
2.3
Deer breeding is described in terms of estimated breeding values for productive
traits.

Demonstrate knowledge of productivity targets and culling of deer.

3.1
Productivity targets and culling are described in terms of livestock farming
practice.
3.2
Culling to improve productivity targets is described in terms of its influence on
deer breeding.
3.3
The number of replacements needed is calculated from productivity targets and
culling figures.
