Texture, colour and composition are also explored in surface design and stitch to give a sense of different processes occurring through time. Kristin’s education includes a certificate from City and Guilds Design and Embroidery, Part I, 2003, a Ph.D. in oceanography from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology/ Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Joint Program, B.A. in Geology, Brown University and various workshops from Nancy Crow, Elin Noble, Martha Ann Cole, Barbara Shelly and others.
