Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Essay (CTT)

A “Connect to Topic and transition method of
delivering the essay.
1. Topic – The greatest sandwich in the world. (first
paragraph = Topic paragraph = Earl of
Sandwich, what one actually is, origins, etc.
Thesis: The peanut butter and jelly sandwich is
the best sandwich in the world. Nutrition,
delicious, preparation.
2. The next paragraph (first body paragraph) is
about WHY this is the best. Reason #1 could be
the strongest = nutrition. What makes it “good”
for you. Leave out things like sugar, calories,
etc. Concentrate on whole wheat bread, low fat
peanut butter, etc. Accentuate how nutritious it
really is. Finish with a “driving home” sentence.
Because the PB & J sandwich is nutritious, it is
the best sandwich in the world.
3. The next paragraph (2nd body paragraph) is
begun with a transitional sentence. Not only is
the PB & J sandwich nutritious it is delicious.
Elaborate . It’s taste quality makes it the best
one in the world.
4. The next paragraph (3rd body paragraph) is (for
example) not only is it delicious, it is easy to
prepare. Because it is easy to prepare, (no
heating, no defrosting, just quickly spread
ingredients and slap together. Etc. Elaborate .
Because it is easy to prepare it is the best
sandwich in the world.
5. The last paragraph ( 5th – Concluding
parpagraph – There are other sandwiches the
world (lobster, ham, etc, but the PB & J is the
best because……
