Hanover Central High School Prom Information As the end of the school year draws near, we know the students are only getting more excited about the biggest school event of the year, Prom. The Junior Class is working diligently to make Prom a night to remember. Please keep in mind that Prom is an extracurricular event. Attending Prom is a privilege to students, not a right. Listed below, you will find some general information and answers to questions that you may have. Prom Prom will be held at the Hellenic Cultural Center located in Merrillville on Saturday, May 10th from 6-11pm. The doors will open at 6pm, dinner will be served at approximately 7:15pm and Prom Court will take place approximately 9:30pm. Prom Tickets Prom Tickets will go on sale 3 weeks prior to prom. The cost is $45.00 for a single and $85.00 for a couple. All checks should be made out to Hanover Central High School. They will be sold on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays during Success Period. On Tuesdays and Thursdays tickets may be purchased during SRT. All tickets will be sold in room 307, Mrs. Suarez’s room. However, there will be a few dates that Mrs. Suarez will make herself available during lunch time. Those dates will be announced at a later date. Guest Pass Forms If you are bringing a guest from another school or that is out of school you must fill-out a guest pass. The guest passes are located in the main office. Please get the pass filled out and returned to the secretary by May 2, 2014. All guests must be 20 years of age or younger and a minimum of a sophomore in high school. No Freshman will be allowed to attend prom. Dress Code On the Hanover Central website is a copy of the Prom Dress Code. It is important to remember that the students will be representing Hanover Central High School the night of Prom. We would like to keep Prom a formal and classy event. If a student’s clothing does not meet the dress code set forth they may be asked to leave the event. Attendance Like any other extracurricular event, the students must be present at school in order to be eligible to attend. Thus, all students will be expected to attend a full day of school on Friday, May 9th unless they have an excused absence. If you have any questions related to this topic please direct them to Mr. Biggs. Pictures The pictures will be takes by Larry Titak Photography. The tickets will be taken at the prom venue in another room. Picture forms will be handed out with the purchase of prom tickets. Extra forms will be available that night. Please make all checks payable to Larry Titak Photography. When the pictures arrive, they are to be picked up from Mrs. Suarez either during Success Periods or SRT on a Tuesday or Thursday. Grande March The Grande March will take place at Hanover Central High School at 4:15. This event should end at approximately 5:30. Please sign-up with Mrs. Suarez when you purchase your Prom Tickets. When you arrive at the Grande March please check in at the designated table to let them know you have arrived. All other questions should be directed towards Mrs. West. Side Notes All students will sign a Prom Agreement form prior to attending prom. The Prom Agreement is available to view on the school website. This agreement will ensure that all students are following standards and procedures. If students refuse to obey these policies and procedures, they will be asked to leave the event.
